NH Collection Taormina, historic hotel built at the beginning of the 20th
century, reopened in 2009 after restructuring works. Located in the heart of
the city historic centre, it is just a few steps away from Corso
Umberto I, Taormina's exclusive promenade, which has seen a host of celebrities make this small part of Paradise famous throughout the world: Maupassant, Goethe, Oscar Wilde, Vittorio De Sica, Sophia Loren, Gregory Peck, Greta
Garbo, Cary Grant, Rita Hayworth and Liz Taylor. The position of the building, standing above the roofs of the
town, provides an exceptional panorama, with the Greek Theatre in the foreground and the sea, from Capo S. Alessio to the Bay of Naxos, in the near distance. The hotel's 63 rooms are modern and sophisticated, using warm, earthy tones to create a cozy feel. Most come with a balcony or terrace, a wonderful spot to look over Taormina and the sea beyond. Guests can enjoy an authentic Italian meal at the hotel restaurant Zagara, where Sicilian specialties are extremely popular, or take a seat on the poolside terrace and enjoy both the Sicilian sunshine and a panoramic view across the city. Furthermore at guest's disposal there is a spa and a compact fitness room.
